Houston-wide Culture and Inclusion Working Group

Rooted in Woodside’s core values of One Team, We Care and Results Matter, the newly established Houston-based Culture and Inclusion (C&I) Working Group brought together 15 diverse employees from across the businesses and functions to champion an inclusive culture that values and respect diverse perspectives. The group’s mission is to foster a culture that drives innovation, encourages collaboration, accelerates performance, and nurtures a sense of belonging for everyone.

Formed in 2025, the Houston C&I Working Group focused on unifying and amplifying the message of Culture and Inclusion throughout the Houston campus. “Our goal is to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported, enabling a collaborative and high-performing organisation where we all thrive as One Team,” said Paa-Joe Akoto-Ampaw, Vice President, Gulf of America, and Executive Sponsor of the C&I Working Group. He added, “From the outset, we set a clear mission: to enhance the employee experience. I am proud of the group’s efforts to foster meaningful and open dialogue that deepens our understanding of culture and inclusion.”

The group began by listening to feedback from Employee Impact Groups, internal stakeholders, and employee surveys to identify challenges, ultimately prioritising three focus areas for 2025 and beyond: Communication and Leadership Engagement, Cultural Integration and Belonging, and Careers, Growth, and Development. By staying connected to employee feedback, the team aims to serve as a cultural bridge between the broader community and leadership, helping Houston-based employees feel a positive sense belonging at Woodside.

In 2025, the group hosted three major events to address employee feedback and bring leaders and employees together for learning and discussion. Two events targeted team leaders, a Fireside Chat to discuss Woodside’s commitment to inclusion, and “Accelerate Action with Inclusion Essentials,” a session held in collaboration with Catalyst, a nonprofit dedicated to building inclusive organisations. The group also organised a Careers Panel, giving employees the chance to hear from peers about navigating career transitions and exploring growth opportunities within Woodside.

Through the Houston Culture & Inclusion Working Group, we are making meaningful progress toward a truly inclusive work environment at Woodside.
