Environmental performance
The Scarborough Development received approval under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (OPGGS Act) on 30 March 2020 when NOPSEMA made the decision to accept the Scarborough Offshore Project Proposal (OPP). For State Waters activities, the various approvals for the project include Particular Manners Decision 2018/8362 under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC Act) and Ministerial Statement 1172.
Secondary environmental approvals for various stages of the Scarborough Project, known as Environment Plans, have been granted by the State and Commonwealth Regulators, and these are available publicly (in full for Commonwealth Waters and as a Summary for State Waters) on the respective Regulator websites.
