Geomatics

Geomatics covers the acquisition, management, analysis and delivery of geospatial information. This includes the fields of surveying, geographic information systems (GIS), geospatial data management, cartography, remote sensing and geodesy.

Within Woodside, geomatics is responsible for planning, executing and managing surveys, the provision of positioning services, the management and usage of geospatial information and technology across the company, as well as providing geodetic advice. Geomatics works across the entire hydrocarbon exploration and production life cycle due to the critical role of geospatial data.
