Leave review

Employee leave review

Woodside Energy has identified an issue relating to its treatment of public holidays for some current and former Australian-based rostered employees.

An internal review indicates that in some instances, Woodside may have incorrectly deducted leave when Australian-based rostered employees took leave on a public holiday since 1 January 2010. In addition, some Australian-based rostered employees who took unpaid leave on public holidays since that date may have been entitled to be paid.

Woodside is sorry this occurred and is taking steps to remediate the issue as soon as possible.

Woodside understands that this issue affects approximately 1300 employees who worked for Woodside or BHP Petroleum on rosters that included work on public holidays since 1 January.

Woodside has proactively and voluntarily self-reported this issue to the Fair Work Ombudsman and will take a transparent and employee first approach to rectifying the error.

Remediation – Former Employees

Woodside will make a payment to all former employees who had annual leave or long service leave deducted, or who were treated as being on unpaid leave, on a public holiday since 1 January 2010. Woodside will also pay interest on the amount owing and an additional amount to reflect any disruption caused by the error.

More information for former employees is available in the Frequently Asked Questions section below.
