Case Study: Referendum Support

Case Study - Referendum Support

On Saturday, 14 October 2023, Australians were asked to vote in a Referendum on the Indigenous Voice to Parliament. Throughout its Referendum advocacy, Woodside was acutely aware of the impact the event was likely to have on our Indigenous employees. Various teams collaborated to roll out the Indigenous Employee Referendum Response Plan. The plan sought to provide a holistic, risk-mitigation approach to the impacts before and after the Referendum. Initiatives included Line Leader and Indigenous employee resource support packs, virtual and on-country healing days for Indigenous employees, webinars for people leaders on ‘maintaining workplace and cultural safety during the Referendum’ and on-site drop-in access to a psychologist.
